BIRMINGHAM, Ala.| Five Tigers were named to the 2026 All-SWAC Soccer Preseason Team, the conference announced Friday afternoon. Sophomore goalkeeper,
Taylor Osborn was named SWAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year and All-SWAC First Team.
Ryanne Hawthorn-Harper and
Sarah Portis also earned First Team honors while
Kianah Farmer and
Malayah Nuestro were tabbed All-SWAC Second Team.
Osborn set the tone her freshman season registering eight wins at the goalkeeper position. She played in 14 matches and logged 1,129 minutes on the field. Osborn notched 49 saves and a 0.860 save percentage to help the Tigers to a SWAC Regular Season Championship.
A force in the Tigers midfield, Hawthorn-Harper notched seven goals, including two game winners, for 15 points last season. She tacked on one assist and 1,376 minutes in 17 games.
Portis anchored JSU's defending midfield last season playing in 18 games, and scoring three goals and four assists. She recorded 12 shots on goal out of 23 attempts.
Farmer played in 17 matches last season. She recorded 1,229 minutes and and eight complete games her sophomore year. She finished the season with 11 shots and seven shots on goal.
Malayah Nuestro finished last season on a high note scoring one goal for the Tigers at UAPB. She also tacked on two assists and 10 shots on goal (16 attempts). Nuestro played four complete games her sophomore season.
JSU is predicted to finish first in the conference per the SWAC Preseason Poll.
The Jackson State soccer team is set to open the 2026 campaign at home Wednesday hosting Mercer. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
