De'Suan Dixon

Dr. De'Suan Dixon

Dr. De’Suan Dixon begins his seventh season at Jackson State University as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach & Video Coordinator.

His primary responsibilities include recruitment of student-athletes, film editing and exchange, aid in player development, summer basketball camps, scout opposing teams, manage student-athlete’s attendance to class, aid and assist scout team, aid in student-athletes school admission/ Financial Aid, attend athletic compliance mini sessions, and mentoring student-athletes.

He also served as a graduate assistant coach for the men’s basketball program at Jackson State University from July 2012 to July 2014.

Prior to becoming an assistant coach for the Tigers, Coach Dixon served as the Athletic Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Mississippi from July 2014 to July 2015.

While serving as athletic director he provided guidance and direction for sports programs, managed the teams and special events budget, recruited boys and girls to participate in different sports activities, prepared sports clinics for youth ages 5-18, and represented the organization at professional meetings and other special or public events.

Coach Dixon earned his Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education, his Master of Science in Sports and Exercise Science, and his Ph.D. in Educational Administration, all from Jackson State University.

Dr. Dixon is married to Dr. Laquala C. Dixon. The couple share one son, Demani Dixon
