Trey Johnson

Trey Johnson was named associate head coach for the Jackson State’s men’s basketball staff in May 2022 and begins his fourth season on the bench for his alma mater.

Johnson spent the previous two seasons with Alabama State University as the associate head men’s basketball coach on Mo Williams staff.

Johnson spent ten years playing professional basketball in numerous countries.He spent three seasons in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles  Lakers, and New Orleans Hornets. Johnson was a member of the 2011 Lakers’ playoff team. He also starred internationally, where he competed as a member of the Qatar National Team in the Asian Cup hosted by Japan in 2012. He helped the country earn a bronze medal in the tournament while competing in the 2015 Asia Championship and the GCC Championship  (Saudi Arabia).

Trey has six beautiful kids; Cynia, Michael, Kaloni, Carleigh, Cristin and Selah.
