LORMAN, Miss –
Patricia Calderon scored the game-winning goal at 58:48 in the second half as the Jackson State women's soccer defeated earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over rival Alcorn State Sunday afternoon.
Calderon totaled five shots, three of which were on goal.
Nadia Hernandez added three shot attempts and assisted on Calderon's goal.
Jalah Carter recorded four shot attempts, two of which were on goal, while
Alexis Henriquez added three shots, two of which were on goal.
JSU outshot Alcorn 16-8, including an 8-5 margin in the second half.
The Lady Tigers played two goalkeepers.
Rachyl Robles started the first half made two saves.
Bianca Clemente played the second half and made three stops.
JSU returns home Thursday and welcomes Howard to the JSU Soccer Field at 3 p.m. The 2018 Senior Class will be honored and we recognize their service to Jackson State University and the women's soccer program.
