ARLINGTON, Texas – Marneisha Hamer scored a team-high 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field as UT-Arlington defeated the Jackson State women's basketball team 99-63 Saturday afternoon.

JSU (0-2) shot the ball exceptionally and finished with a 43.8 shooting percentage (21-of-48).

Kaisah Lucky contributed 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field. Lucky went 4-of-7 from the charity stripe and grabbed a pair of rebounds.

Christina Ellis scored 11 points and went 6-of-8 from the free-throw line. Ellis also hauled in five rebounds and handed out of a pair of assists.

UTA (1-0) shot 59 percent (36-of-61 from the floor.

JSU returns to action Tuesday and plays host to Central Arkansas.
