Ellis Scores Game-High Points at UL-Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. – Christina Ellis scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Jackson State women's basketball team narrowly dropped a 68-61 decision at UL-Lafayette Monday evening in non-conference action.

The Lady Tigers (1-2, 0-0 SWAC) shot 36.9 percent (24-of-65) from the field, including a sizzling 48 percent (16-of-33) in the second half.

Marneisha Hamer scored 13 points and hauled in five rebounds.

Ellis also found success at the free-throw line and converted 8-of-10 shots.

As a team, JSU outscored ULL (1-2, 0-0 SBC) 42-28 in the paint. The Lady Tigers also forced Ragin' Cajuns into 23 turnovers, which the Blue and White promptly turned into 21 points.
