Arkansas Rallies in 2nd Half to Defeat Jackson State

JSU turns its attention to SWAC play, beginning January 5 at Alabama A&M

Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Junior Marneisha Hamer scored a game-high 21 points and posted eight rebounds as Arkansas rallied in the second half to defeat the Lady Tigers 76-57.
 
JSU (4-7) went to Hamer early and often in the first half. The Memphis native scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.
 
The Lady Tigers defense was a problem for the Lady Razorbacks (11-3) in the opening half. UA was held to 33.3 percent (10-of-38) shooting from the floor and turned the ball over eight times.
 
Sophomore D'Asia Mitchell scored 12 points, while Junior Christina Ellis added 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field. The San Diego native also went 2-for-2 at the free-throw line.
 
JSU won the battle in the paint and out-rebounded the UA 49-40, including a 15-12 margin on the offensive boards. The Lady Tigers also scored 28 points in the paint.
 
The Lady Tigers return to action and open conference play January 5 at Alabama A&M.
