Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Three student-athletes scored in double digits as Alabama State edged Jackson State 74-67 Monday evening in Southwestern Athletic Conference action.
As a team, JSU (4-9, 0-2 SWAC) shot 37.5 percent (21-of-56) from the field, while the Hornets (2-11, 1-1 SWAC) connected on 48.1 percent (25-of-52) of their shot attempts.
Junior
Marneisha Hamer dropped a team-high 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. The Memphis native also went 4-of-5 at the free-throw line.
Senior
Jasmine Redmon scored 14 points and went 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. Fellow senior
Christina Ellis added 13 points and shot 4-of-9 from the floor. The San Diego product also converted four free throws.
The Lady Tigers return to the hardwood Saturday and host rival Alcorn State. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
