SAN MARCOS, Texas - Tristan Jarrett led Jackson State with 18 points in a 73-58 loss to the Texas State Bobcats on Monday night in San Marcos, Texas.

Cainan McClelland was 5-of-9 with 12 points. McClelland tallied a team-high three steals along with
Jonas James, who had three steals to match McClelland. James was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line on his way to capping the night off with 10 points.Â
Lemmie Howard knocked down two shots and was solid defensively with a high of two blocks for the Tigers. Howard had four points.
Venjie Wallis knotched five points in 10 minutes on the court.Â
Jackson State returns home Friday for the home season opener at the Lee E. Williams Athletics & Assembly Center versus non-conference opponent Southern University of New Orleans beginning at 7 p.m.
