JACKSON, Miss. –
Marneisha Hamer scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field as Tulane defeated Jackson State 82-46 Tuesday evening in the season-opener for both programs.
Ameshya Williams scored seven points and hauled in a team-high nine rebounds.
In 17 minutes of action freshman and Lanier High School product
Keshuna Luckett scored five points and went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
D'Asia Mitchell came off the bench and scored five points in six minutes of action.
Cherelle Jones scored four points, while
Ieisha Lacey and
Dayzsha Rogan each helped out with three points apiece.
As a team, JSU shot 22.7 percent (17-of-75) from the field, while TU connected on 44.4 percent (28-of-63) of its shots from the floor.
JSU returns to action Sunday, November 10 at Miami. The tip is set at 2 p.m. (1 p.m.) from Coral Gables.
