JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers volleyball team completed a 3-0 sweep over In-State rival, Alcorn State, Thursday night inside of the AAC to improve to 12-3 in SWAC play.
The Tigers won set one, 25-18, set two, 25-20, and the third and final set, 25-19. It was the second time this season that Jackson State swept the Lady Braves as JSU finished the season a perfect 2-0 against Alcorn and 6-0 in six sets.
Kanile'a Nomura led the Blue and White with 10 total kills on 13 attacks.
DeKyra Dennis finished with a team-high 16 assists and six digs.
Alana Washington collected a high of 10 digs as well on six assists.
Damassy Thompson ended the contest with 14 total assists and seven digs.Â
Marina Bianchi Brito was dominate defensively as she added a team-high three blocks for JSU. Brito also contributed with four kills on 13 attacks.Â
Kaiya Wall totaled eight kills on 22 attacks and
Camry Dabney finished with seven kills and five digs.
Carin Bridges ended her night with nine digs.
Madison Wolf and
Taila Gaines each provided five kills on the night respectively.Â
Jackson State improved to an even .500 on the season with an overall record of 16-16 and 12-3 in conference play. The Lady Tigers will hit the road for a two game road trip beginning this Sunday Alabama A&M at 5 p.m. and at Alabama State on Monday at 6:30 p.m. before returning home next Thursday (Nov. 14) at 6:30 p.m. versus Mississippi Valley State for Senior Night.
