JACKSON, Miss. - Tristan Jarrett finished was absolutely dominate in Monday evenings 113-67 statement setting victory over Southeastern Baptist College, finishing with a career and season high 38 points on 14-of-24 shooting from the floor.
Jarrett also led the Tigers with four 3-pointers and was 6-of-8 from the free throw line.
It was the first 100 point game in the
Wayne Brent Era and the first since the Tigers won 100-97 against Texas-El Paso on Dec. 22, 2006. It was also just the second 100 point game for Jackson State since 1995, in a 102-84 home win over Prairie View A&M.
The Tigers shot 57.9 percent front the field, making 44-of-76 shot attempts.
Jayveous McKinnis was a force in the paint, finishing with his third double-double of the season with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting and 11 rebounds.
McKinnis also had a team-high three blocked shots in the contest.
In his first game back for the Blue and White,
Roland Griffin tallied 17 points and a team-high seven made free throws and nine rebounds.
Venjie Wallis had nine points and a Tiger best three steals while
Miles Daniels had 11 points on the night.
Dontelius Ross, Jarrett, and Wallis each led JSU with four total assists, respectively.
The Tigers, as a team, had 62 points in the paint, 31 fast break points, and 51 points off of the bench.
The Blue and White hit the road this week for a Thursday night matchup in Portland, Ore. as they take on the University of Portland beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
