Dayzsha Rogan scored a team-high 14 points as Illinois State defeated Jackson State 77-55 Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.
ISU improved to 8-2 and JSU stands at 1-8.
The Lady Tigers started quickly and led 14-12 after the first quarter.
There were nine lead changes and JSU and ISU traded baskets through the second and third quarter and the Redbirds led 46-41 after three-quarters of action. ISU outscored JSU 31-14 in the final frame to secure the final outcome.
Ameshya Williams scored nine points, grabbed 12 rebounds and a game-high five blocks.
Marneisha Hamer dropped seven points grabbed five boards, while
Kaisah Lucky and
Sumer Williams each scored six points.
As a team, JSU shot 35.1 percent (20-of-57) from the floor. The Blue & White also scored 25 points off the bench.
JSU returns to action Sunday, December 29 at 3 p.m. for its final non-conference game of the season and host Louisiana-Lafayette.
