MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Tristan Jarrett, the leading scorer in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, scored a game-high 20 points and No. 9 Memphis fought past Jackson State 77-49 Saturday afternoon at the FedEx Forum.
UM improved to 10-1 and JSU stands at 3-9 overall.
Jayveous McKinnis grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds and added seven points.
Roland Griffin helped out 15 points and hauled in seven rebounds.
JSU played a stingy defense and forced UM into a season-high 28 turnovers, which the Tigers turned into 18 points.
As a team, the Blue & White shot 32.3 percent (20-of-62) from the field, while UM connected on 55.2 percent (32-of-58) of its shot attempts.
JSU concludes non-conference action Monday, December 30 at Baylor.
