CONWAY, Ark. – The Jackson State softball team dropped a pair of games at the first day of the Central Arkansas Tournament. North Alabama defeated JSU 8-0 and South Dakota State topped the Lady Tigers 16-1.
Game 1 North Alabama 8, Jackson State 0
Brooke Boechler batted 1-for-2 and added a stolen base.
Kelsey Smith added a walk.
Kayla Owens tossed four innings and allowed nine hits, eight runs and one walk and fanned three batters.
Game 2 South Dakota State 16, Jackson State 1

Destyn Jones,
Madelyn Prukop and Smith each picked up a hit. Prukop also scored a run, while Cruz stole one bag.
Jones started in the circle and tossed three innings and allowed nine hits, seven runs (five earned) and two walks and fanned a pair of batters.
The Lady Tigers return to action Monday at 10 a.m. versus South Dakota State.
