CONWAY, Ark. – The Jackson State softball team dropped a pair of contests at the final day of the Central Arkansas Tournament. South Dakota State defeated JSU 8-1 and Central Arkansas topped the Lady Tigers 11-0.
Game 1: South Dakota State 9, Jackson State 1

Leah Hopson started in the circle and tossed three inning and allowed nine hits, eight runs (seven earned) and two walks.
Ariana Cruz batted 1-for-2 and reached on a walk.

Destyn Jones,
Elyssa Sanchez and
Zoey Keyes all reached base on a walk.
Game 2: Central Arkansas 11, Jackson State 0
Madelyn Prukop batted 1-for-2 and Keyes went 1-1 at her only at bat.
Sanchez tossed four innings and allowed 13 hits, 11 runs (nine earned) and one walk and fanned four batters.
JSU returns to the diamond Tuesday for its home-opener at 5 p.m. versus Belhaven.
