CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami defeated Jackson State 8-1 Wednesday evening to conclude a two-game non-conference series.
 
The Tigers scored their lone run of the game in the third inning on a double-steal. Chandler Dillard stole home and Equon Smith swiped second base.
 
Smith batted 2-for-4. Jaylyn Williams, Dezmond Chumley, Tyler Jones, Tyler Culpepper, Sam Nastari and Rahman Williams each picked up a hit. Justin Moore also picked up a hit in his only at-bat.
 
Mario Lopez absorbed the loss and tossed three innings, allowed four runs and one walk and struck out a pair of batters.
 
JSU returns to action and plays at Mississippi Valley State in a SWAC match-up.
