CONWAY, Arkansas - The Jackson State softball team split a pair of games Friday afternoon, defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff by a final score of 13-3 in five innings, before falling to Central Arkansas, 9-0.
The Lady Tigers head into tomorrows doubleheader with an overall record of 5-6 overall.
In game one Friday,
Isis Taylor led JSU with two hits (2-for-3) with three runs batted in and one run scored.
The Lady Tigers pounded out 10 hits as a team with nine players collecting at least one hit. JSU scored five runs in the first, six in the third, and two in the fourth to set the tone for the game.
Sierra Smith hit a solo home run, her first of the season, as she finished 1-for-1 with two runs scored.

Brooke Boechler,
Sierra Smith, and
Madelyn Prukop all had two runs scored a piece in the Lady Tigers 13-3 win.
Destyn Jones, was solid in the circle, throwing five complete innings and only giving up six hits, three runs, and striking out three opposing hitters.
Game two went a little differently for the Blue and White. Central Arkansas scored two runs in the first, four in the second, and three in the third inning to distance themselves from JSU by a score of of 9-0.
UCA never looked back at they allowed just one hit by Jackson State, which came off the bat of
Alexis Arredondo.
Central Arkansas went on to defeat JSU 9-0 in the Tigers second game of the day.
The Lady Tigers return to the diamond tomorrow morning for an 11 a.m. contest versus Moorehead State before taking on in-state foe, Southern Miss in the afternoon slot at 3:30 p.m.
