JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State women's basketball team improved to 16-1 in conference play with a 76-56 win over Alabama State on Thursday afternoon in Montgomery, Ala.
Ameshya Williams and Dayzcha Rogan led JSU with 20 points a piece. Williams and
Sumer Williams each collected 10 rebounds, as Ameshya earned herself anothet double-double.
Marneshia Hamer had 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting and four rebounds.
Kaisah Lucky collected team highs with four assists and three steals.
As a team, JSU shot 29-of-63 from the floor and out rebounded Alabama State 35-31.Â
With the win, Jackson State improve to 18-9 overall on the season and a SWAC best 16-1 in conference play. The Lady Tigers have won four straight heading into Saturday's regular season finale.
With one more game Saturday at Alabama A&M, the Lady Tigers have the opportunity to finish with the best Conference record in score history. The mark of 16-2, set back in the 2003-04 season, has stood as the best SWAC record for any Blue and White women's basketball team.
