JACKSON, Miss. – Jackson State dominated Mississippi Valley State 3-0 (25-14, 25-5, 25-22) Sunday afternoon in Southwestern Athletic Conference action.
The Tigers improved to 8-10 overall and a perfect 8-0 in conference play, while the Devilettes fell to 2-10 and 0-6 within the conference.
Senior Marina Brito finished with a match-high 13 kills and a staggering .765 hitting percentage.
Alexis Williams, the reigning SWAC Offensive Player of the Week, added 12 kills to go along with six digs.
Taila Gaines contributed seven kills and
Olivia Flanagan added six kills, while
Damassy Thompson kept the offense humming with 30 assists.
As a team, JSU finished with a .415 hitting percentage. The Tigers dominated at the net and added six blocks to the Devilettes one.
JSU returns to action Tuesday, October 19 and host Southeastern Louisiana at 6 p.m.
