Jackson State makes another trip in the State of Iowa on Thursday, this time to take on Drake at 7 p.m. CST inside the Knapp Center.

JSU (2-8) dropped their last contest this past Tuesday to Northern Iowa. Everything worked in the Tigers' favor in the first half of the game going into halftime with a seven point lead, 32-25. UNI took over the game the entire second half to secure a 66-56 victory. 

Ken Evans Jr., Gabe Watson, and Jayveous McKinnis did a good chunk of the scoring for the Tigers'. Both Evans Jr. and Watson recorded 12 points and McKinnis finished with a double-double posting 10 points, 14 rebounds, and he added four blocks.  The tandem combined to make 14 field goals, six of which were three-pointers.

It was the fifth double-double of the sason for McKinnis who leads the team with an average of 11.1 points per game and 10.3 rebounds  He is shooting 52 percent from the field.

Drake (6-4) is averaging 75.8 points while shooting 46 percent from the field. The Bulldogs have collected wins over COE, South Dakota, Richmond, Valparaiso, St. Thomas, and Omaha. They have dropped four contests to top ranked Alabama, Belmont, North Texas, and Clemson.  

Drake features three players – guards Tucker DeVries, Tremell Murphy, and ShanQuan Hemphill – who is averaging double figures. DeVries is averaging (13.9) points, Murphy (12.0), and Hemphill (10.5). 

Thursday will mark the fifth meeting all-time between the two programs.  While the Bulldogs hold a slim 3-1 advantage in the series, the Tigers won the previous matchup in 2016, 68-63 in Des Moines. 

The matchup will be streamed live on ESPN+.
