LORMAN, Miss. – Jackson State cruised past Alcorn State 7-2 Friday evening to take game one of a three game SWAC series.

Anthony Becerra kept the Braves off balance.
The lefty tossed six innings and scattered five hits and struck out 11 batters. Steven Davilla entered in relief and tossed the remaining three frames and did not allow a hit and fanned three.
Jefrey Rodriguez batted 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and scored a run and drew a walk and
CJ Newsome went 2-for-5 with an RBI and scored a run.
As a team, JSU recorded five hits and did not commit an error.
JSU and Alcorn return to the diamond Saturday at 3 p.m.
