JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers handed Mississippi Valley State a 3-0 loss on Monday evening as the Lady Tigers captured the Regular Season SWAC Championship and did so finishing the season undefeated at 9-0.

Jackson State defeated MVSU 25-22 in close set one matchup before defeating the Devilettes 25-12 and 25-15 in sets two and three on the night.

Jackson State was led by Alexis Williams with 12 kills on the evening, five digs, and an astonishing five service aces. Jylen Whitten had nine kills and a team best seven digs in the Championship clinching match.

Senior, Marina Bianchi Brito had four kills and three blocks while Alana Washington and DeKyra Dennis each tallied six digs in the win. Dennis, the senior out of Memphis, Tenn., also contributed seven assists. 

Damassy Thompson notched a team-high nine assists in just two sets played on the night. Senior, Sapphire Simpson totaled seven assists on the evening. 

The Lady Tigers conducted the regular season as the undefeated SWAC Regular Season Champions with a record of 9-0. 

They will enter this weekend's SWAC Tournament as the No.1 overall seed. The Tournament is set to begin on Friday in Birmingham, Ala at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
