ITTA BENA, Miss. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers volleyball team swept Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday night, winning by a final score of 3-0.
The Lady Tigers won the first two sets of the match by scores of 25-12 in each, before taking the third and final set 25-10 to take the sweep.Â
Jackson State was led by reigning offensive SWAC Player of the Week,
Alexis Williams with seven kills in the matchup.
Camry Dabney had six kills and
Jylen Whitten tallied five kills. Whitten also had seven digs.Â
Williams also had four aces and a team best 12 digs on the night.
Alana Washington had nine digs behind Williams, for second best on the team.Â
Damassy Thompson had 15 assists to pace JSU, while
DeKyra Dennis had nine assists for the contest.
The win improved JSU to a perfect 6-0 on the season overall and in SWAC play. Jackson State returns to the court on Thursday at Grambling. The two teams are set to begin at 6 p.m.Â
