Box Score ITTA BENA, Miss. – Jackson State upped its record to 16-7 and 11-0 in SWAC play with a dominating 8-0 win over Mississippi Valley State Saturday afternoon.
 
Mario Lopez, the SWAC Pitcher of the Week, tossed 5 1/3 innings, scattered four hits, allowed two walks, and struck out four batters. Steven Davila entered in relief and went the rest of the way and allowed no hits and fanned seven batters.
 
Equon Smith batted 2-for-5, Ty Hill went 2-for-5 with a home run and CJ Newsome finished 3-for-5.
 
The Tigers and Delta Devils complete their three-game series Sunday at 1 p.m.
