ITTA BENA, Miss. – Jackson State defeated Mississippi Valley State 13-1 and improved to 17-7 and 12-0 in SWAC play.
Nikelle Galatas tossed a complete game and earned the win on the bump.
The junior scattered three hits, allowed one run (unearned) and walked two batters and struck out 12.
Ty Hill, batting fourth in the lineup, batted 3-for-5 with five RBI and also drew one walk.
Devontae Rhodes finished 1-for-3 with three RBI and drew a pair of walks.
Jatavious Melton batted 2-for-5 and
Chenar Brown finished 2-for-6.
