JACKSON, Miss. – Jackson State rolled past Tougaloo 17-3 Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action from Braddy Field.
The Tigers, who led the county with 9.2 runs per game, reached that mark in the bottom of the second inning and opened up a 13-0 lead.
Chenar Brown batted 2-for-4 including a grand slam in the second inning.
Equon Smith batted 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI, while
Ty Hill and
Jefrey Rodriguez each produced a pair of RBI.
Leadoff hitter
Jatavious Melton batted 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored three runs, while
Omar Gomez finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Jaelen Williams went 3-for-6 with an RBI.

Chandler Dillard each picked up a hit.
Antonio Valdez started and picked up his first win of the season. Valdez tossed 4 innings and allowed one hit and no walks and fanned three batters. From there,

The Tigers return to the diamond Friday and host Alabama State for a 6 p.m. SWAC affair.
