MONTGOMERY, Ala.| Alexis Williams registered her 10th double-double of the season against Alcorn State Monday morning in the Tigers' final match of the Southeastern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Eastern Division Cluster at Lockhart Gymnasium. Williams recorded 14 kills and 10 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Jackson State (6-12, 5-1 SWAC) got on the board first with back-to-back kills from Alexis Williams and Nevaeh Bray
-Jylen Whitten gave the Tigers a 10-6 lead as she registered a kill
-JSU hit the gas to wrap up set one, 25-13
-Alcorn State (2-17, 1-5 SWAC) got on the board in set two as a result of a JSU service error
-The Tigers took a 20-13 lead with a kill from Taila Gaines
-JSU held Alcorn State to two points while sealing the second set, 25-15
-Olivia Flanagan registered a kill to open the third set and put the Tigers on the board first
-Jackson State took a 13-3 lead over the Braves as Karys Dove recorded the ace
-The deficit was too large for Alcorn State to recover from as the Tigers concluded the match 25-9 in the third set
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Jackson State finished with a total of 84 total attacks, 43 kills and a .417 hitting percentage
-The Tigers had a total of 42 digs, 41 assists and 10 aces
-Damassy Thompson recorded 17 assists, while Karys Dove finished with 16
-Taila Gaines and Jordan Jones each had two blocks
-Trinity Bryant registered 14 digs and
