HOUSTON, Texas| The Jackson State volleyball team took down the Texas Southern Tigers 3-1 (25-13, 23-25, 25-15, 25-15) in the quarterfinals of the Southwestern Atheltic Conference (SWAC) Tournament Friday evening at H&PE Arena.
The Tigers were led by a double-double from Alexis Williams, who registered 17 kills and 16 digs on the day. Olivia Flanagan also added 16 kills to help the attack. Williams pitched in with seven in the contest. On the defensive end, Trinity Bryant chipped in with 14 digs to go with six blocks from Jordan Jones.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Tigers won the first point and never trailed to win the first set 25-13. Jackson State opened up its biggest lead, 12 points, to close out the set. Jackson State also supplemented its offense with three aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Jackson State fell in the second set 25-23 to tie the match 1-1. The Lady Tigers fought back from a seven-point 15-8 hole, but Texas Southern held on to take the set.
SET 3 | Jackson State then got back on the winning track, emerging victorious in set three and taking a 2-1 lead in the match. The Tigers seized the set 25-15. Jackson State took the lead for good at 10-9 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Lady Tigers took over the lead.
SET 4 | Jackson State kept the momentum going, claiming the match win with a 25-15 set-four victory. A strong showing on the attacking side led the Lady Tigers to victory in the set. Jackson State registered a .333 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set win. The Tigers opened up a 24-12 lead in the stanza and coasted to victory from there. Jackson State also supplemented their offense with three aces in the set.
