PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas| The Jackson State women's soccer team advances to the semifinals of the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Soccer Tournament after defeating Alabama A&M 2-0 Thursday morning at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Jackson State's Annalise Brunson took a shot on goal at the 3:46 mark as AAMU's Laura Jansa registered the first save of the game
-Brunson shot again with no luck at the 13:43 mark
-Alabama A&M committed a foul against the Tigers, setting JSU up for the free kick
-Kendyl Terrell took the free kick for JSU and scored at the 26:25 mark to give the Tigers a 1-0 advantage
-JSU closed out the first half with a shot from Alexes Sanchez at the 44:05 mark
-Sanchez shot twice to open the second half for Jackson State as Jansa recorded both saves
-Sydni Wilson scored the Tigers' second goal off a penalty at 68:22 to ensure JSU with a 2-0 lead
-Annalise Brunson squared up with the goal at the 76:50 mark as Jansa came away with an incredible save
-JSU's Maya-Joy Thompson took a shot at 89:26 as time winded down
-Jackson State sealed the 2-0 win over Alabama A&M
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Jackson State finished with tenshots and seven shots on goal
-Tionna Taylor registered one save, posting another shutout with the help of JSU's defense
-Kendyl Terrell and Sydni Wilson each scored a goal for the Tigers

The Tigers will return to the PVAMU Soccer Complex Friday to take on the winner of #4 Alabama State and #5 Texas Southern in a semifinals matchup. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. on SWAC Digital Network.
