HOUSTON, TX --The Jackson State men's basketball team got a 31-point performance from the bench, but fell 102-52 to the Texas Tech Red Raiders at Delmar Fieldhouse Saturday.
The Tigers (1-10) had two players score in double figures, led by Keionte Cornelius, who had 12 points. Jamarcus Jones added 10 points from the bench and Zeke Cook added six points.
How It Happened
Jackson State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 52-17 heading into halftime.
After intermission, Jackson State managed to gain control and had a 94-46 lead before going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Cornelius' three, to grow the lead to 99-46 with 2:12 to go in the contest. Texas Tech then asserted control, outscoring the Tigers 56--47 the rest of the way to hand Jackson State the 102-52 loss. Jackson State shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting five shots from deep to score 15 of its 35 points.
