PULLMAN, Wash.| The Jackson State women's basketball team came up short in an 83-56 loss at Washington State Saturday afternoon. Ti'Ian Boler led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points, followed by Keshuna Luckett who tacked on 14 points. Angel Jackson added another 12 points and two steals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· Washington State (8-2, 0-1 Pac-12) took a 5-0 lead at the start of the game.
· Jackson State (2-7) went on a 5-0 run with 7:25 left in the first quarter, culminating in a bucket from Luckett, to tie the game at five.
· Washington State then pulled ahead, sending the Tigers into the second quarter down 21-12.
· JSU continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 47-23 halftime deficit.
· Jackson State's deficit grew after the half as the Tigers faced a 68-37 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter.
· The Tigers took advantage of four Washington State turnovers in the quarter, scoring four points off of takeaways.
· The Cougars kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 77-42 advantage before Jackson State went on a 7-0 run, finished off by Luckett's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 77-49 with 3:55 to go in the contest.
· The Tigers kept their comeback going, but WSU managed to hold on for the 83-56 win.
· Jackson State got a boost from its bench in the period, with non-starters scoring five of its 19 total points.
· Led by Daphane White's two offensive rebounds, Jackson State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 13 boards that resulted in seven second-chance points.
· JSU's defense forced 14 turnovers.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
· Jackson State shot 18-for-63 from the field (28.6 percent) and 6-for-16 (37.5 percent) from the three-point line.
· The Tigers finished with 16 points in the paint, eight points off 14 Washington State turnovers, eight bench points, seven second-chance points and two fast break points
· Charlisse Leger-Walker led the Cougars with 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists
· Bella Murekatete finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds
· Washington State registered 38 points in the paint, 26 bench points, 15 fast break points, 15 points off 13 Jackson State turnovers and 18 second-chance points

The Tigers return home to host Southeastern Louisiana Friday at the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center for their final non-conference game of the season. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
