Baseball Loses Opening Game At Alabama A&M

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Jackson State University baseball team lost 8-3 at Alabama A&M in the opening game of the Southwestern Athletic Conference series.

Trailing 3-0 after four innings, Jackson State got on the board in the fifth. With two out, Jefrey Rodriguez doubled to left field and scored on an infield single by Omar Gomez-
Rivera to cut the deficit to 3-1.

A big inning by Alabama A&M pushed the margin to 8-1 after seven innings. The Tigers added single runs in the eighth and ninth innings for the final margin.

Rodriguez went 2-for-3 to lead JSU (11-11 overall, 0-4 SWAC) at the plate.

Game two of the series is Saturday at 2 p.m.
