JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State University soccer team defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff in its second conference matchup of the season. Sage Magruder scored the goal for the Tigers at the beginning of the second half just after JSU was set up for a free kick.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Arkansas-Pine Bluff (6-7, 1-1) shot first two minutes and 34 seconds into the game
-Jackson State (2-6-1, 1-0-1) shot at the 6:11 mark by Kendyl Terrell
- JSU's Kianna Tulloch shot on goal at the 40:49 just before the half as Taylor Schumacher recorded the save
-The Tigers opened the second half with a goal scored by Sage Magruder at 46:57 to put JSU ahead, 1-0
-Magruder came back to try her luck taking a shot at the 57:32 mark as Schumacher registered another save
-Tionna Taylor registered a save for the Tigers as UAPB's Natalie Freeman shot at the 78:12 mark
-Meagan Picon tried to give JSU some insurance by shooting into the goal at the 84:42 mark, but Schumacher tallied another save
-JSU was able to handle the ball last and secure the 1-0 conference victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff
