Jackson State's Coltie Young hit a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left in the game to put the Jackson State men's basketball team ahead for good in a 67-66 victory over the Alcorn State Braves.
The Tigers had two players score in double figures, led by Jamarcus Jones, who had 26 points and two steals. Young tacked on 11 points and three blocks and Ken Evans added six points and six rebounds. Jones led the Tigers with a game-high 26 points.
Alabama State University men's basketball team earned an 80-66 win over the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Wednesday.
Jordan O'Neal scored 18 points and collected 18 rebounds as the third Hornet to post a double-double this season. Isaiah Range added 16 points followed by Alex Anderson with 15 and Eric Coleman with 10.
This is the 93rd meeting between Jackson State and Alabama State. The tigers hold a 52-40 lead in the series.
