Volleyball Loses Conference Battle at Home

JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State volleyball team fell at home Friday night as Alabama A&M posted a 3-1 (22-25, 26-28, 25-22, 19-25) win at the Lee E Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.
The Tigers were led by a double-double from Alexis Williams, who registered 15 kills and 12 digs on the day. Hope Briggs also added 12 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Trinity Bryant chipped in with 20 digs to go with three blocks from Jordan Jones.

  • A 28-26 set-two loss put The Tigers behind 2-0 in the match.
  • The Tigers dropped a close second set, losing in a stanza that was tied four times and had two lead changes.
  • Jackson State stayed alive with a victory in set three to make it a 2-1 match.
  • Impressive serving helped the Tigers win the set 25-22.
  • JSU totaled five aces in the win.
  • The Tigers opened up a 21-14 lead in the stanza and coasted to victory from there.
  • The Jackson State offense also got a boost from five aces in the stanza.
  • JSU couldn't keep the rally going and lost in set four 25-19 to drop the match.
