JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State soccer team fell 2-1 at home to Texas Southern Sunday afternoon at JSU Soccer Field. After getting on the board first, the Tigers weren't able to find their way back to the goal again in the match.
"No words are going to describe my disdain for our performance today, despite the fact that we were off to a blistering start leading to the first goal," said JSU's head coach Ted Flogaites." "We conceded two poor goals, both off of set pieces and aside from that they caused us no trouble in the run of play, so to lose like this stings.
In any event, we didn't get it done today and there are no excuses for it, we went away from what we do well and there was no reason to go away from the things we do well, so that's completely on us. We have to turn the page because there's no way at all that giving this match away is acceptable. We've made it more difficult for ourselves and now we march into Grambling looking for a result, and we will be at a high level of commitment come Friday. This week our focus will be to tap back into the kind of mentality required to win these kinds of matches."
