Four Tigers Score in Double Figures in Loss at Texas

AUSTIN, Texas| Four Tigers scored in double figures as the Jackson State women's basketball team fell to Texas on the road Wednesday evening. Jackson State got an 18-point showing from the bench, but dropped the 97-52 decision to the Texas in its last non-conference game of the season.

The Tigers were led by Andriana Avent, who had 11 points. Ti'Ian Boler tacked on 10 points and Miya Crump helped out with another10 points and four steals.

Jackson State grabbed 40 rebounds in the matchup compared to Texas' 38, led by eight boards from Angel Jackson. The Tigers also cleaned up the offensive glass, turning 24 rebounds into 11 second chance points.

JSU's defense was effective at taking away the basketball, forcing 14 Texas turnovers. Those takeaways turned into seven points on the offensive end of the floor. Crump's four steals led the way individually for the Tigers.
