Baseball Loses Series At Florida A&M

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Jackson State baseball team lost both games of Friday's doubleheader at Florida A&M by scores of 12-3 and 9-3 at Moore-Kittles Field.

GAME 1 | Florida A&M 12, Tigers 3

JSU scored in the first for the second straight game. Daniel Bannon walked and moved to second on a Jatavis Melton sacrifice bunt. Ty Hill then doubled down the right field line to score Bannon to give the Tigers the early lead.

Trailing 3-1 after one, the Tigers scored again in the second. Caleb Evans doubled down the left field line with one out, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on an RBI groundout by Marshal Luiz to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Trailing 7-2 after two innings, JSU scored its final run in the fifth inning. Marcus Atterberry tripled to center field with one out and scored on an RBI groundout by Myles White.

GAME 2 | Florida A&M 9, Tigers 3

Jackson State scored in the fourth inning. White led off with a walk, moved to second on a passed ball, advanced to third on a ground out, and scored on an error.

In the ninth, Bannon singled with one out and moved to second on a walk to Melton. Both runners advanced on a passed ball before Melton scored on a wild pitch. Melton then scored on a sacrifice fly by Hill.

Hill went 3-for-4, and Daniel Bannon 3-for-5 for the Tigers (17-12 overall, 4-8 SWAC), who return to action Tuesday, hosting Rust at 3 p.m.
