THIBODAUX, La.| The Jackson State soccer team shined against Nicholls State on the road Friday night in its non-conference matchup at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex. The Tigers defeated Nicholls State 4-1.
"We are very happy with the first win of the season, and the kind of soccer we played tonight I thought showcased our ability when we are in form," said head coach Ted Flogaites. "We had some really special performances tonight but the collective performance had the right spirit, energy and desire. To have four different players score goals was gratifying and supported a lot of the work we've been doing lately to fine tune different elements of our game. The team and the players were locked in to the match in a way that meant we wouldn't be denied and they deserve all the credit for tonight's performance."
Chantae Blackwood scored the Tigers' first goal of the match.
Kendyl Terrell scored JSU's second goal of the match.
