HAMMOND, La.| The Jackson State soccer team couldn't shake back from an early goal scored by its opponent as JSU fell to Southeastern Louisiana Sunday afternoon on the road. The Tigers fell 1-0 in the matchup.
How It Happened
Jackson State (1-5)Â saw a shot from Kianna Tulloch early in the game at the 13:13 mark, SELU's Olivia Griffin came up with the save.
Kendyl Terrell took a chance at giving JSU the advantage at 19 minutes but Griffin registered her second save of the match. At 27:07 Southeastern's Hanna Moffatt scored for the Lions to put them ahead. Mya Guillory was credited with the assist.
Terrell shot again just before the half at 38:18 but Griffin came away with another save as the Lions carried the 1-0 lead into the intermission.
It was a quiet second half for both teams as JSU completed only two shots on goal in the last 45 minutes of the match. Southeastern walked away with the 1-0 win over the Tigers.
Inside the Numbers
- Jackson State took 10 shots in the match five of which were on goal while SELU took 23 shots with 11 on goal.
- Rebecca Jameison recorded 10 saves for the Tigers and Southeastern's Griffin finished with five saves.
