JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State soccer team got a pair of goals from Caylah Williams in a 4-1 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Friday Friday afternoon on its home field.
The victory boosted JSU record to 1-7-4 overall and 1-1-3 in SWAC play.
How it Happened
- Jackson State grabbed a 1-0 lead when Williams scored her first goal of the season in the third minute, assisted by Kendyl Terrell.
- The Tigers added another score on a goal from Kyla Gomez, her first of the season in the 42nd minute, assisted by Maya Askew.
- UAPB narrowed the gap to 2-1 on Denisse Quintanilla's 54th-minute goal.
- The Tigers grabbed a 3-1 lead with a 75th-minute goal from Williams, her first goal of the season..
- JSU increased its advantage to make it a 4-1 game on Emmi Sullivan's first goal of the season in the 87th minute on a penalty kick.
- The Tigers held on to secure the win, its first of the season.
