NASHVILLE, Tenn. | Jayme Mitchell Jr. paced three players in double figures for Jackson State in a 77-53 loss to Lipscomb at Allen Arena to close out a 10-day trip on Sunday.
Mitchell scored 15 points on 6-of-21 shooting from the floor including a pair of three-pointers, while Dorian McMillian added 1o points and six rebounds. Tamarion Hoover scored in double figures for the second time in three games with 10 points and seven rebounds. Shannon Grant added eight points and six rebounds, while Juan Reyna III finished with eight.
Inside the Numbers
Jackson State finished the game shooting 36.5 (23-of-63) percent from the floor and 28.6 (6-of-21) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot just 20.0 (1-of-5) percent from the free throw line and grabbed 42 total rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lipscomb shot 39.7 (29-of-73) percent from the floor and 28.1 (9-of-32) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 66.7 (10-of-15) percent from the free throw line and grabbed 46 rebounds.
Game Notes
- The meeting was the third between the two schools, heading into the game tied at 1-all in the series.
- A pair of Tigers got the first starts of their short careers in Delyle Williams and Hoover. They joined McMillian, Mitchell, and Grant in the starting lineup against Lipscomb.Â
