Tigers Earn 3-0 Sweep Over Alabama State

JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State volleyball team earned a three-set win (25-12, 27-25, 25-21) over Alabama State Friday at home at Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.

The conference win improved Jackson State's record to 15-9 overall and 11-2 in SWAC play.

The Tigers offense was paced by Jayden James, who finished with 12 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .321, and by Hope Briggs, who had 11 while hitting .647. JSU got 10 digs from Trinity Bryant along with five blocks from Jordan Jones to lead them defensively.

  • The Tigers took control on the first point and never trailed to secure the first set 25-12.
  • Jackson State led by as many as 17 points at 24-7 before closing out the set.
  • JSU also supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set.
