MEMPHIS, Tenn. --The Jackson State Tigers had a tough showing on Friday, falling to the Presbyterian Blue Hose by a final score of 7-2 at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field.
Senior Garrett VanDeventer (2-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Jackson State (10-4). Junior Brandon Haston was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one inning and surrendering one run on one hit.
Junior Sebastian Cabeza led the way offensively for the Tigers, going 2-for-4 in the ballgame. Senior Davione Hull provided a noteworthy performance as well, going 1-for-2 with a double. Senior Hasan Standifer also contributed, going 2-for-4 for Jackson State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tigers got on the scoreboard first, starting in the fourth inning. Senior Rodney Hibler Jr. came across to score the lone run of the inning for Jackson State and get them on the board.
The Tigers lost the lead they built in the fourth but got back on the board in the ninth, trailing 7-1. Senior Chance Pollard scored the lone run of the inning for Jackson State, bringing the score to 7-2 in favor of the Blue Hose. The Tigers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the game.
GAME NOTES

- Jackson State turned four double plays in the ballgame.
- Jackson State pitchers faced 37 Presbyterian hitters in the game, allowing 10 ground balls and nine fly balls while striking out four.
