JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State softball team swept Bethune-Cookman after defeating the Wildcats in the Saturday doubleheader. The Tigers completed the series sweep with a 6-5 walk-off win in game three.

GAME 2 JSU-5 BCU-2
How It Happened
- Bethune-Cookman got on the board in the first inning as Ciera Clark doubled to left field bringing Essence Gibbs around to score.
- Jackson State immediately responded with an RBI single from Julie Lopez as Meah Almaraz put up the Tigers first run.
- With bases loaded in the bottom of the third, JSU broke the game open with as Almaraz pushed another run across on an infield single.
- The Tigers increased the lead to 3-1 when Ka'Liyah Gipson scored on a passed ball.
- Another wild pitch allowed another JSU run to cross the plate and Almaraz was able to round out the scoring with an unearned run for a 5-1 advantage.
- BCU scored one last time in the bottom of the fourth Joyce Bloom stole third and advanced home.
- The JSU defense stood tall the rest of the game holding the Wildcats to three scoreless innings to walk away with a 5-2 win.
- Sofia Gonzalez got the win for JSU pitching seven innings while only allowing two runs.

GAME 3 JSU-6 BCU-5
How It Happened
- JSU opened game two with a two-run RBI from Almaraz that brought Jackson and Gipson home in the bottom of the first inning.
- BCU jumped ahead and scored four runs in the second inning and another run in the top of the fifth for a 5-2 lead.
- Jackson State scored again in the bottom of the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly from Kristina Carlson that scored Jackson making the score 5-3.
- The Tigers began to stage the comeback as Beija Allen hit an RBI single to left field.
- Lopez came to the plate right behind Allen and cranked an RBI double to left field to tie the score five.
- Ayanna Jennings flew out to the pitcher and Jalia Hubbard struck out looking with Perry on first and Lopez on second.
- With two strikes, Mari Stephens singled to left field to score Julie Lopez as the Tigers walked off 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh to sweep Bethune-Cookman in the series.
- Victoria Salazar got the win for JSU in the circle after pitching all seven innings.
Up Next
The Tigers travel to Tallahassee to open a three-game series with FAMU Friday and Saturday.
