JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State volleyball team racked up 12 blocks in a 3-0 (22-25, 23-25, 26-28) loss to Southern Miss Wednesday night at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.
The Tigers were led by a double-double from Alexis Williams, who registered 18 kills and 13 digs on the day. Hope Briggs also added eight kills to help the offense. Naija Gadis chipped in for with 12 digs to go with seven blocks from Jordan Jones.

- A powerful defensive showing didn't cut it as the Tigers dropped the first set 25-22.

The JSU volleyball team will compete in the Central Arkansas Invitational in Conway over the weekend. The Tigers will take on Little Rock on Friday at 1 p.m., and North Alabama (10 a.m.) and Central Arkansas (2 p.m.) on Saturday.
