Pine Bluff, Ark.| Midfielder Ryanne Hawthorn-Harper scored twice and Malayah Nuestro added a late goal as Jackson State women's soccer extended its unbeaten conference streak with a 3–0 victory over Arkansas–Pine Bluff Friday afternoon at Pumphrey Stadium.
The win keeps Jackson State (6–5–2, 5–0–0 SWAC) perfect in Southwestern Athletic.
How It Happened
JSU dominated from start to finish, firing 22 total shots (13 on goal) and earning seven corner kicks, while the back line limited UAPB to just five total attempts and one on target.
Hawthorn-Harper opened the scoring in the 18th minute, finishing from close range to give JSU a 1–0 lead. The Lady Tigers continued to pressure throughout the half, forcing four saves from UAPB keeper Makaila Riedel.
In the second half, Hawthorn-Harper struck again at 70:25, doubling the advantage. Moments later, both teams saw red cards after a brief confrontation, resulting in the ejection of Caylah Williams for Jackson State and Zakhariah Jones for UAPB.
Undeterred, Jackson State stayed on the attack. Freshman midfielder Malayah Nuestro sealed the result in the 79th minute, converting a well-placed assist from Kaila Tablado to make it 3–0.
Goalkeeper Taylor Osborn earned her fourth shutout of the season, needing just one save as JSU's defense — led by Sarah Portis, Kianah Farmer, and Makayla Sturkey — held firm throughout.
