MONROE, La.| The Jackson State softball hit the road for its first midweek matchup of the season at ULM Tuesday afterenoon. The Tigers fell to the Warhawks 9-1.
How It Happened
- Jackson State (7-1) put two runners on base in the top of the first but couldn't put runs on the board.
- ULM scored three runs during their first trip to the plate.
- The TIgers answered in the top of the third as Jace Jackson singled to right field to advance Meah Almaraz and score Ka'Liyah Gipson.
- The Warhawks scored again in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 9-1 advantage.
- JSU couldn't recover in the top of the fifth, falling in the matchup.
Inside the Numbers
- Brooklyn Morris took the loss in the circle for JSU after pitching 3.1 innings.
- Maddies Nichols registered the win for ULM.
- Jackson, Gipson and Almaraz each had one hit in the game.
- Jackson also recorded an RBI.
