JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State pounded out seven extra-base hits including three home runs in a rain-shortened 9-2 victory over Tougaloo at Braddy Field on Wednesday night.
Jackson State (13-7) led 3-0 through the first two innings before Wilbert Perez, Joseph Eichelberger, and Pierre Cabral went back-to-back to push the lead to 5-0 and the Tigers would put it out of reach with two more in the inning for the win. The Tigers picked up four doubles in the win and had nine different players pick up a hit each while Hederick Torres and Perez each picked up a pair of RBI.
Carson Foster (2-0) picked up the win in relief of starter JeAndrick Lourens with 2.1 innings of work allowing a pair of runs on one hit with five strikeouts. Lourens got the start and lasted 2.0 innings allowing just one hit with a pair of strikeouts, and Eric Elliott came in for the final 0.2 innings before the rain.

- 3rd inning - Eichelberger homered to left center, RBI (0-0). Perez homered to center field, RBI (1-0). Cabral homered to left field, RBI (2-0). Torres doubled to left field, RBI (2-2); Darwin Gregg scored. Ledy Alvarez doubled to left field, RBI (1-1); McCladdie advanced to third; Torres scored, Jackson State 8-0.
- 4th inning - Bryant McCorvey walked, RBI (3-1); Landon Williams advanced to second; Gage Lewis advanced to third; Grant Carmichael scored, Jackson State 8-1.
- 4th inning - Gregg doubled down the lf line, RBI (1-0); Tate scored, Jackson State 9-1.
- 5th inning - Carmichael doubled to right center, RBI (3-1); Orlando Truss scored, Jackson State 9-2.
